Life develops around cities. More than half of the world's population already lives in cities, and the proportion will continue to grow. But, although the human being is increasingly urban, cities are very different from each other. Size and wealth are the most differentiating elements, but so are the way in which they relate to others, the way in which they integrate newcomers and their respect (or not) to the environment. The population, on the other hand, is also changing. In Europe we are getting older; other continents, among which Africa stands out, have the youngest population in the world. Demography will cause migratory movements. Other elements, such as the growing number of single-person households, will also cause changes in the cities.
